Write Now Prompt (Feb 19)

Ellie, faced with the stark reality of the situation, stared blankly at the tablet before her. It bore the instructions she would need to follow, precisely, carefully to get the job done. Her mother’s voice popped into her head. “You have to follow the directions exactly or it will not come out right.” She shook her head, grasped the instructions tightly, and grimaced.

As much as she dreaded the idea, she knew the time had come to call and admit that her mother had been right.

The realization didn’t come any easier though. Baking cookies just seemed so… difficult.

As much as she dreaded the idea, she knew the time had come to call and admit that her mother had been right. Skulking around the complex didn’t bother Paula as much as listening to the ringing and waiting for her mom’s voice. She tried out many ways to discuss the subject in her head. Finally the ringing stopped.
“Hello dear,” answered her mother. “I love hearing from you but it is rather late. This doesn’t have something to do with that supervillain boyfriend of yours?”
“Mom! He wasn’t a supervillain when I was dating him,” replied Paula louder than she should have.
“Alright. I… Wait. Did you way when you were dating him?”
Paula sighed. “I don’t have time to explain. You were right. I…”
A robot walked our and turned to face her. Was the robot waiting for intruders? Was she so distracted she didn’t hear the metal feet clanging ton the floor? In the end, it didn’t matter. The machine charged forward.
She didn’t have time to transform before the robot collided into her. The two of them tumbled to the ground. The cell phone clattered across the floor. Hearing crackling electricity, Paula touched a rubber coating on the machine. Her skin turned to rubber before the taser jabbed into her. Moments latter her arm turned normal. Her fist touched the concrete floor. The robot tumbled off of her as the concrete fist smashed into it’s head.
“Mom, get the heroes and come to my GPS location,” yelled Paula after jumping up. She glanced quickly for the phone. Seeing it only for a second before the robot crushed it under foot.

(Parts of it I already want to fix but figured I’d type it up as written.)
