Writing, Family and More
While driving today, I had a sudden “Aha!” moment about my story. Yesterday, I was a little concerned about how the story was progressing, so to have that moment today made a big difference in how I wrote. Luckily, the place I was driving to was a Write-in – so I was already in the mindset to get some serious writing done. That’s how I managed to get to 3.4k today. A nice solid amount that puts me ahead of the pace by about a half-day.
I can’t say enough about the goodness of Write-ins. Aside from being great motivational boosters, they are also good for meeting new people, connecting with other writers (serious and otherwise), and to really give you an opportunity to do nothing but write. My area (or rather the area to which I used to belong that I still haunt) has them on Saturdays in Bellingham for 3 hours. I’d like to get out to more of them, especially during the off-season of NaNo, but it isn’t always in the cards.
In any case, NaNoWriMo related or otherwise, getting out and meeting other writers to discuss the craft of writing can be good for your writing, good for you as well.
This week is apt to be a busy one, but that’s pretty much the standard around here. Happy writing everyone!
It's a beautiful country, but you're going to miss most of it if you spend your free time in the truck stop lounge. Travel tips and pics for truckers and others.
