India Trip – Sunday

Sunday, 6:30pm, Westin Hyderabad

I didn’t really have a plan for today. I knew I wanted to finish shopping for the kids, but didn’t really have a plan on how to attain that. Yesterday, I had found things for the girls, but was still a little lost on something that would do well for the boys. After hemming-and-hawing about it, I finally had the hotel call me a cab and he took me out. We talked about the issue and while he happily dropped me off at the mall, he suggested we might find something elsewhere. When I returned to the cab after an hour, empty-handed, I was ready to go searching.

He took me to two shops and I was very happy with them both. I found something unique for both boys that made me happy. I face so much stress in trying to find the right gift, but I wanted something that they couldn’t necessarily find back home; something they would hopefully appreciate greatly.

After the adventure, he took me back and I just relaxed in the room for the afternoon. Or rather, I would have relaxed but found myself stressing about money again. I know why I stress about it, but I need to remember that the bulk of the trip will be reimbursed. To put my mind at ease, I’ll probably go get the current bill, just so I can make sure I’m not overspending for the money I have available.

Tomorrow is a work day and Tuesday is my last day here. Although I technically fly out on Wednesday, I’ll need to be checked out of the hotel for midnight or so.

I miss being home. I can’t wait to see everyone on Wednesday night, though I’ll probably be so tired that it won’t be much interaction beyond that.

Since my father expressed some interest in the walking sticks at the Salar Jung museum, here are a couple of pictures from that room:

These sticks had buttons to "activate" something on them. The monkey stuck out its tongue for instance.
