India Trip – Tuesday

Tuesday, midnight, Westin Hyderabad

Eventful day, despite taking a nap from 11-5:30 or so. I managed to get settled into the hotel, had breakfast and dinner here, went to the office at 9pm, met a few colleagues with whom I have only talked on the phone. I got told to turn back by two security guards when I went the wrong way.

Fun stuff.

Breakfast was mostly just normal food to me – though the almond croissant and the mango yogurt were the stars of my meal. I learned as well that I don’t like papaya.

Dinner was a wider variety. Taken from the buffet, I grabbed some “Thai Chinese Chicken”, some chicken soup that was absolutely delicious (and spicy), spinach dumplings, vegetable kofta, and the waiter brought over some naan – which was delicious in its own right too.

For dessert, I tried a cocunut yogurt parfait, an apple cinnamon mousse-tart-thing and some fruit. This place has had watermelon for two meals in a row – so I’m a happy camper.

I’m having a little trouble reconciling prices in my head. I see “1700” and I balk because that just seems absurd. When reality sets in and I realize it is only about $30, I am more comfortable. For a quick guess, I just need to divide by 50 and round down. I just need to do that before I see the bill.

I didn’t get outside during the day time at all. By 8:30 or so, it was still in the 90s though – so it is hot. I expect it is only moreso during the day. I guess I’ll see in the morning.
