Day 6: Goal 1667, Actual 0

Yeah – that’s a zero up there. It has been a long day and I’m just out of energy at this point. I was hoping to get in some writing after the kids were in bed, but I discounted how much energy it would take to go to my daughter’s first choral recital. And since kids take precedence even to writing, I guess that’s the way it goes today. The recital was really good though and, more importantly, she enjoyed herself immensely. I hope she keeps it up since she loves to sing.

I’m not too concerned about a zero day today. I have plans to attend my area’s “cafe crawl” which is a 12-hour write-in a week from Saturday. I managed to attend the whole thing last year and netted 10,000 words in one day. I’m hoping I can reproduce that this year, but even if I don’t, it should be easy enough to catch up by the end of the month if I keep up with things. The key there is that I keep up. I can give myself a break tonight, but I can’t always give myself a break.

Anyway, I’m going to get some sleep and work out the next part of the story while I rest. This way I’ll be prepared for the next section to work on tomorrow and I won’t feel quite so guilty about leaving this day alone.

Happy writing everyone.

I didn’t expect I’d catch up to you. Too bad it’s not because I’m doing well.

Still very early. At worst – you could only be 20% behind and I know you are better than that – so look at it that way.

Seeing your kids perform is fun! Way to not let that silly little number get you!

Silly little numbers never get me in the early days of the month. We’ll see how silly they are by mid-month though.

Then you want to strangle them!
