100 miles total; 25 miles in one day. Where’s my bed?

A few hours ago, I returned from my first of, hopefully, many rides this year where I get out and do a significant chunk of riding. The Ashland Bike Club was starting in Ashland and heading towards me, so I met them out there on my car and basically rode home (and back to my car). The original plan was 20.7 miles round trip, but we ended up tacking on the other leg of the Milford Bike Trail to round it out to 25.4. Of course my legs were screaming at me around the 20-mile mark, but I stuck it out and managed to make it back to my car.

My lunch time rides are usually around 11MPH. My average speed for this trip was 10.4MPH – so not too much of a drop off despite the extra distance and the addition of some substantial hills. The route was mostly around some back roads, with only a few instances of major road travel. Since there were only four of us today, this allowed us to stay on top of each other and help out when help was needed.

Added to this was the other leg of the Milford Bike path

I’m pretty tired, but hanging in there so far. We’ll see what the jury says tomorrow though…
