Letters from Camp: Day Two

Dear Dad:

The rain finally let up and the sun came out today. Unfortunately, it has been bitterly cold, windy and someone said snow might be in the forecast. That someone is now locked in my neighbor’s foot locker. We might let him out tomorrow.

Still, at least it isn’t raining.

I managed to get some quiet time to myself today, which was nice. Unfortunately, it was short-lived and interrupted with a series of people screaming about spiders in the mess hall. There were anywhere from 60 to 300 of them, depending on who you trust. By the time I got there, there was only one. Luckily, it was really pretty:

Unfortunately, the distraction cost me most of my time to get things done for myself. Hopefully I’ll have more to talk about tomorrow.

Talk to you soon.

Wow, that spider is beautiful! Normally I’m holding my breath while I quickly escort the arachnid outside/far, far away, but I think that is one I could get used to having around. 🙂

I’m going to blame facebook for my discovery of that one. One random pic of a spider and then I was off searching different spiders…

Beautiful or not, if I saw that thing, I’d be leaving camp immediately!

I have to admit when I first saw this thing, I thought the colors were photoshopped in. It is quite impressive though and I don’t know if I would be able to be in the same room either…

    Dear son,
Quit complaining, you’re at camp. Think camp is tough, wait till you get out into the real world. And, you bring that blue hairy thing home, I’m feeding it to the chickens.
    Love Dad.

      Dear dad,

That blue hairy thing is over in Sri Lanka. If I could bring it home, it might eat one of your chickens…
