Day 23: Goal 1667, Actual 1481

I had a day today where I could have done basically anything I wanted to. If I wanted to sit down and write all day, I definitely could have done that.

So I hit my goal for the day right? So I managed to knock off 5k on the day right?

No. Sadly I did not. Part of my being able to get things done is actually focus on writing. For most of the day, I simply didn’t take advantage though.

This is part of my challenge for the off-season. I can generally keep myself occupied for as many hours as I am awake. Whether that time is spent in useful ventures or not – I need to make sure I take the time for my writing. After this current project, I am going to finish the rewrite on Jacoby Figurine. But in order to do it, I need to give it focus.

I did sit down in two different sessions today. Short sessions because I knew I didn’t have to write much, but also because I wasn’t focused and would interrupt myself for other things.

I’m just over 41,000 now. I am definitely in the home stretch. I hope those of you who are working on this venture are also working on the last measure as well.

Like you, I’m easily distracted, especially when I have a large block of time to sit down and write. At times, I think I do better with having the pressure of very little time. I’m on the homestretch with you. I hit 44k yesterday. I wanted to finish before tomorrow, so I would have one day to rest before starting a new week at work, but I doubt that will happen. Good luck!

Luckily, I’ve filled up my Saturday with “stuff” – so the block of time for my write-in should be very productive. Nice on you for hitting 44k! Good luck with the finish.
